My path to Pilates began not in a studio, but in physical therapy.
After being diagnosed with dysautonomia, hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), I struggled to find symptom relief through traditional prescription medications — particularly due to chronically low blood pressure.
Determined to improve my quality of life, I sought out Dr. Stacy Hund, DPT, and began working through an autonomic dysfunction protocol that ultimately changed my relationship with movement.
As my nervous system stabilized and my body regained strength, Dr. Hund introduced me to Pilates — and everything shifted.
What began as a therapeutic tool quickly became a sustainable, empowering form of movement that allowed me not only to exercise safely, but to function fully in daily life. Pilates gave me strength, stability, and confidence in my body — and it continues to be the foundation that allows me to participate in both Pilates and strength training without setbacks.
I went on to pursue comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body, learning under some of the most respected educators in the field, including Leslie Clayton, Balanced Body Master Instructor; Vicki Sullivan, Balanced Body Master Instructor ; Megan Meurer-Gordon, Balanced Body Comprehensively Trained Instructor; and Dr. Stacy Hund, DPT.
This mentorship-driven education shaped not only how I teach, but why I teach the way I do. In addition to my comprehensive training, I have completed advanced coursework in hypermobility and osteoporosis, allowing me to work thoughtfully with clients who require a higher level of support, precision, and understanding.
Today, my work is guided by both education and lived experience. I understand firsthand the impact that movement, clean nutrition, and well-designed, purposeful training can have on overall health and quality of life. My goal is to help others feel strong, capable, and at ease in their bodies — just as my mentors helped me.
